LG’s much awaited Optimus G Pro finally hits the AT&T stores today as scheduled. The phablet from LG is now available exclusively from AT&T for $199.99 on a two-year contract or $549.99 off-contract. It can be purchased through AT&T and local retail stores.
Previously LG launched Optimus G Pro in South Korea and Japan and it seems that the recent launch in US will surely give a much needed boost to the sales of the phablet.
Phablet is a new form factor of a smartphone which is gaining a lot of attention these days due to its large display. Samsung was the first one to introduce its phablet ‘Galaxy Note ’ and then the market was flooded with large display smartphones.
LG Optimus Pro G is a powerful smartphone which is powered by Qualcomm Inc.’s 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor along with Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB RAM. It is to be noted that Samsung’s new flagship device Galaxy SIV and HTC’s One both are powered by the same powerful chip.
It features a beautiful 5.5” True Full HD IPS Plus LCD with 401 ppi which looks stunning.
A 13 Mega pixel back camera is capable of taking pictures at 4208*3120 and shoots 1080p video at 30fps with “dual recording feature”. The device also features a 2.1 MP front facing camera and comes with 32 GB of internal storage but you can always opt for microSD card for extra storage.
Optimus Pro G runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and comes in White and Black colour variants. This whole package is fueled by a hefty 3,140 mAh battery.
According to LG, ‘Sales of the Optimus G Pro broke the 500,000 mark in the first 40 days following its launch, becoming LG Electronics’ fastest-selling smartphone.’
There is still no information whether other carriers will offer LG Optimus G Pro or not.
