ZTE, the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer may be readying itself to take on Korean Samsung and Taiwan’s HTC with a flagship high end smartphone of their own. The company is said to be prepping to launch an android device with a Tegra 4 CPU sporting model ZTE N988.
This phone is rumored to have a gigantic 5.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and will have 2 GB RAM to match the quad-core processor it packs. The ZTE N988, if it actually exists, is set to be the first smartphone to have NVIDIA’s latest chip which the company promises to be a much more improvement from the hugely popular Tegra 3.
Nothing much is known about the hardware and other specifications of this smartphone except that it may have either an 8 megapixels or 13 megapixels camera that can take images in HD. The ZTE N988 may be coming to the market any time in the last half of the year and will have all the standard features that current high end smartphones have including GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options and possibly an FM Radio receiver.
The rumor further goes ahead to point out that the flagship smartphone out of China will sbe available in three colors – white, red and black and will come with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. This is also expected to be one of the lightest phablet at 110 grams despite the huge 5.7 inch screen, thanks to its design.
Pictures of the phone reveal that its design is very similar to the design of ZTE grand, despite several difference. Of interest though is the processor that the phone has – a Tegra 3 – as fanatics and experts just cannot wait to find out how NVIDIA’s newest SoC compares against its main rival’s Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600.
