It is being reported that the second half of the year will be flooded with the launches of Chromebooks from almost all major PC manufacturers. Google is said to be working on an ad campaign for the Chromebooks which is expected to “aggressively promote” the platform.
DigiTimes reports that Acer is working on an 11.6 inch model which it will release in July. This will be targeted at students. Google will be backing this up with its special package of the Chrome OS for students and educators through its Google in Education program.
Asus is also said to be readying a version of the Chrome OS for the second half of the year. But there are no details of the screen size or the features of the model. Also, the possibility of this also being a student version of the Chromebook is very sleek. HP, Lenovo, and Samsung are also reported to be working on their own models, but there is no news about the release date as we only get the “near future” release dates.
