Google Nexus 5 with Android 5.0 Rumored Features and Release Date

nexus 5 concept

Rumors have been popping up everywhere about the possibility of seeing a Google Nexus 5 release weeks from now, but there are indicators that such rumors may just be false alarms.

There is no complete detail on what the possible Google Nexus 5 will come packed with. Speculations about an Android 5.0 Key Lime at Google I/O keeps on cropping up, but that’s about it. Also, there are news going around that this new Nexus will include a full HD screen (either 5 inches or 5.2 inches in size), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor at 2.3GHz and 32GB of storage, which is a pretty nice upgrade from the Nexus 4.

There is no exact date yet as to when the new Nexus will be released. In fact, Google has yet to announce if a successor to its highly praised Nexus 4 is currently under works. But, sources have been saying that the Google Nexus 5 release will be in May during the Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco.

During the same conference, it is also expected that Google will announce the next version of Android, the 5.0 Key Lime Pie, and some new hardware.

However, if the company is still not ready to announce the launch of Nexus 5 this May, then the public would have to wait for October, which will mark the first year since Nexus 4 was released. If you can remember, the Nexus 4 was announced in October last year, the Galaxy Nexus in November and the Nexus S in December.

Ever since the Nexus 4 was released last year, rumors have been riped that the Nexus 5 can rival the smartphones that will be released by Samsung, Sony and HTC this year. If Google somehow manages to do this, then the Google Nexus 5 release will certainly add drama and excitement to the competition among smartphone companies.
