We reported previously about T-Mobile’s shift in business strategy which will make them offer contract free plans. The company has finally made it official by making the service live over at their website. What this means is that you won’t be tied down to any contracts at all when choosing a plan which is actually a good deal.
The default plan is the individual single line setup while the family plan offers between 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines to choose from.
The single line individual plan starts at $50 and provides you with unlimited minutes and text as well as 500 MB of data. You can further customize this plan by increasing the data quota with choices from 2 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, 10 and 12 GB of data. You can also spend an additional $20 on this plan to get unlimited nationwide 4G data to make the plan cost $70 overall.
The family plan starts at $80 which includes unlimited minutes, text and 500 MB of data. If you opt for unlimited 4G data then you’ll have to spend $ 120.
Aside from not getting any contract subscribers will also no longer enjoy subsidized prices for phones. This doesn’t mean though that you will be paying full price for the phone you choose. The company is offering a flexible payment scheme. Depending on the handset model a specific downpayment is to be made and the remaining balance is divided into monthly payments. We are looking at around $99 downpayment while monthly installments can be $15 to $25.
While this new service has already gone live, T-Mobile has yet to make an official statement regarding this. They are expected to make the announcement at their event which will be held this Tuesday in New York City. As for now, you can browse their website and check out the new plans.
