Nvidia recently announced its new line of processors, the Nvidia Tegra 4i. After this announcement, the company has again hit the news with another announcement which says that ZTE, the Chinese smart phone and equipment manufacturer, is going to use Nvidia’s Tegra 4 processor in its new line of smart phones, along with Nvidia’s i500 LTE modem.

ZTE used Nvidia’s Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 processors in its earlier smart phones, but used Icera’s LTE modems. But this time, with the Tegra 4 processor, the manufacturer is using Nvidia’s own LTE modem. Does this mean the integration will be smoother and better? Anyway, these smart phones are supposed to see the light of the day sometime in the first half of this year, according to Nvidia. And these smart phones are going to be high end with features such as full HD video playback and awesome processing powers.

And Nvidia is not the only company announcing powerful chips. ST Electronics announced just yesterday that it has come out with an awesome processor as part of its NovaThor line of integrated chips. This new processor is clocked at 3 GHz, and this is going to be showcased at the Mobile World Congress later this month with a smart phone attached to it. And this smart phone is going to be the first smart phone in the history of the world with a 3 GHz power house inside it.

The new NovaThor processor has all types of modems built into it. This is going to appeal in many geographic areas as there is support for a range of LTE bands. Giga Om writes, “For those who want to get technical, the NovaThor L8580 supports downlink speeds up to 150Mbps as well as LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, HSPA+, GSM and TD-SCDMA. It has up to 17 bands in the same device and a single radio for carrier aggregation, which is what enables it to tune into frequencies in many markets.”
