Google Talk has been the official messenger for Google accounts for a long time now. It is one of the most widely used online chat apps. But still, the search engine giant has not paid a lot of attention to the service. We have not seen any major update to the Android version of the app, and have not seen almost any update to the Windows version of the app since its first release. Coming back to Android, there is no option to share stuffs to your Google Talk contacts directly via the native share function. But thanks to the many Android developers who are facing the same issue, we have many unofficial fixes for this. Let us see one such fix today.
There is an app in the Android Play Store called the GTalkShare from 360Dev. The app does exactly what the title says it does. The app can be used to share links and other content from different apps directly to your Google Talk contacts without having to go through the trouble we usually go through. Once you open the app, it asks you which account you need to use if you have multiple accounts signed up on your Android device. Next, it asks for your permission to access the contacts and other stuffs. You need to permit it.
And that’s it, you are good to go. The next time you need to share something with your Google Talk friends, just hit the default share button on Android’s apps, search for GTalkShare, select the contact to share with, and done. It is as simple as that. But I am pretty sure that people on custom ROMs have other options too. For instance, you can copy the content to clipboard directly from the share option, and then paste the content of the clipboard in Google Talk. That might be easy, but you need to give GTalkShare a chance.
