Samsung Galaxy S IV to be unveiled on March 14th

A new report posted on Sam Mobile shows that the Samsung Galaxy S IV may be unveiled on March 14th. The source of their information is a tweet by Eldar Murtazin, founder of Mobile-Review, a Russian technology website.

Says Murzatin: “Save the date for a big announcement – March 14 🙂 And keep silence 😉 HTC will miss HTC One sales again 🙁 Like it was in 2012.

Murzatin, in said tweet, did not explicitly name the new Samsung flagship as the device to be revealed on March 14th, but Sam Mobile believes that the device mentioned is the Galaxy S IV.

An update from Murzatin also divulged that the unveiling will occur in New York.

Earlier, the Sam Mobile had gotten word that Samsung will take the wraps off the handset on March 15th, a day earlier than the date revealed by Murzatin.

The news blog The Verge, however, cites anonymous sources who also claim that the unveiling is scheduled on March 14th.

Furthermore, The Verge says that the design of the Galaxy S IV is a “tightly-guarded secret.” Samsung, purportedly, will put a premium on its features rather than its hardware specifications. The Verge also reports that “The leap in cool new features from [Galaxy S III] to the next flagship will be bigger” than the leap from the S II to the S III.”

The successor to the Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to feature an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor working alongside an eight-core Mali-T678 GPU. It also comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera which can record videos in 1080p Full HD at 30 fps. This main camera is complemented by a front-facing one that can record videos in 720 HD. Android Jelly Bean is its operating system.

Apart from the smartphone, Samsung is also expected to release the Galaxy S4 Mini handset and a smartwatch.
