Lava offers budget version of Xolo for $259

Lava XOLO A1000

When it comes to buying a smart phone in the with a budget price tag, we will have to compromise on a lot of things, like the processor, the display quality, the storage space, and the version of Android that comes installed on the smart phone. But that is slowly changing as many top smart phone makers are coming into this market with really cool devices. One such device is out from Lava Mobile, and that is the Lava XOLO A1000.

The Indian smart phone manufacturer got some good name for itself even in the western part of the planet as it came out with the first Intel processor based smart phone. Now the company is back with the XOLO A1000 for just $259, and with some really awesome specs. The smart phone has a big 5 inch display with 720p resolution. And the sleek body of the device matches the designs of some of the popular Samsung Galaxy smart phones.

Under the hood, the XOLO A1000 has a dual core 1 GHz MediaTek MT6577 processor and an accompanying PowerVR SGX531 GPU. The smart phone comes with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of inbuilt storage. If that is not enough (which it is not), you also have the option of using a microSD card slot to expand the memory. The smart phone has an 8 mega pixel camera at the back and a 1.2 mega pixel front facing camera.

The XOLO A1000 is said to come with Google’s Android 4.1, or Android Jelly Bean operating system. And to power all this, the smart phone will have a 2,100 mAh battery, which is standard and enough to get the smart phone alive to the end of the day. But I doubt that it will be able to satisfy the needs of a power user with a 5 inch of energy in his palm.

The Lava XOLO A1000 is currently only available for Indian customers for Rs. 13,999, and there is no word about the smart phone’s debut in the United States.
