Huawei Ascend Mate Now Available For Pre-Order In China, Costs $575

If you are one of those who had been waiting for the Huawei Ascend Mate since it was unveiled last January, now is the time to head over to Liaow, an online retailer from China from which the device has been put up for pre-order.

On Liaow, the Huawei Ascend Mate sells for US$575. The website offers international shipping and accepts payment via Paypal.

Huawei, for its part, has not made any announcements regarding when the device will be available in stores, and what is suggested retail price will be. Last month, when the phablet was unveiled alongside the Ascend D2, Huawei only mentioned that the handset will be available this month.

It may be recalled that the handset received a considerable amount of attention when it was announced last month, mainly because of its massive 6.1-inch display. Unwired View notes that to date, the device is the only Android phablet to come with such measurement that has been officially announced. Samsung, which is also rumored to be preparing a 6.3-inch Galaxy Note III, has not confirmed the supposed measurement of said phablet.

The Huawei Ascend Mate’s 6.1-inch display comes with IPS+HD technology and sports a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It responds to input even from users wearing gloves. Underneath, it is packed with a quad-core Huawei K3V2 CPU working with 2GB of RAM. It likewise comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity, and supports expansion through a microSD card. Its operating system is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and it features Huawei’s Emotion UI. Connectivity options are dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, HSPA, and Bluetooth 4.0. Also onboard are two cameras, one of which has an 8.0-megapixel image sensor, autofocus, and HDR, whereas another comes with a 1.0-megapixel sensor. The device also draws its power from a 4050 mAh battery, which promises around 9 days of standby. It comes in two color options, Crystal Black and Pure White, although it appears that only the Pure White model is available for pre-order at the moment. Lastly, the handset’s measurements are 6.5 inches x 3.4 inches x 0.4 inches.
