HTC announced its new Android flagship device, the HTC One last week, and the company needs a lot of marketing and promoting to sell that new smart phone. This is because the competition from the South Korean smart phone giant, Samsung, is nothing short of huge. The company is already rumoured to be getting ready to release its next flagship smart phone, the Samsung Galaxy S IV, sometime in the next month. So it will be busy with that.
And even though HTC is busy with its One, the company seems to be making enough time to release a new smart phone in the parallel universe of Windows Phone 8. But this new smart phone is not going to be the high end device that one would expect it to be, but it is going to be somewhere between the HTC 8X and the HTC 8S, which are both based on the Windows Phone 8 platform.
As can be seen from the leaked screenshot, the HTC Tiara (as it is called internally in the company), is supposed to come with a 1.2 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragn processor. The smart phone will have a 4.3 inch WVGA Super LC2 display, which is really good in itself. But the 4.3 inch display size has started to feel small these days with all the 5 inch phablets coming out from all the companies.
The HTC Tiara is going to offer 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal storage. But there is no news if we would be able to upgrade this with a microSD card, which we are expecting to be present on the smart phone. There is an eight mega pixel camera on the back, and a 1.5 mega pixel camera on the front. And the best news is, the HTC Tiara is expected to be one of the first smart phones to come with the new Windows Phone 8 GDR2. The GDR2 is going to be the next major overhaul of the platform after the Portico update.
