Samsung to launch Galaxy Fonblet and Galaxy X Cover 2 at MWC

Mobile World Congress is going to happen in Barcelona next month and Samsung is already gearing up to launch some of the upcoming devices. Mobile World Congress or MWC is like CES, but only for mobiles.

The most anticipated device from Samsung is the sequel of the much popular Galaxy S3 device, the Samsung Galaxy S IV. It is said to have a 5″ screen with Full HD display, which will put it in the league of other smartphones that are coming with this resolution. Bigger displays are fast becoming a trend and smartphone manufacturers are keen on launching phones with bigger and bigger displays, and in order to keep up with the competition, Samsung is also launching a smartphone with a whopping 5.8 inch screen.

An “insider” gave information to the Samsung oriented blog, SamMobile, that the South Korean technology major will be soon announcing a phone with 5.8 inch screen and it will be called as Galaxy Fonblet 5.8 (GT-I9152). It is anticipated to boot Jelly Bean out of the box and if you take a look at the model number, it will be capable of dual-sim.

This smartphone is supposedly the superior version of the Galaxy Player 5.8 which is currently available, but limited to Korea. The player comes with 5.8-inch TFT screen with QHD resolution display, 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The device is said to launch in Pure White color, which is Samsung’s signature color and all the high end devices come in this color.

Apart from the device with this mammoth display, there’s also some news about existence of Galaxy X Cover (launched in 2011) sequel in the form of the X Cover 2 GT-S7710. Measuring 130.5 × 67.7 × 11.9 mm and weighing 148 grams, the Galaxy X Cover 2 will run Android Jelly Bean (version 4.1 or 4.2) and like its predecessor, is going to be dustproof and waterproof. Other features include a 4-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 4GB of internal memory, microSD card support, HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 1,700 mAh battery. The device is rumored to be offered in two colour versions, Titan Gray and Black/Red. There’s no details on either pricing and availability, but we expect Samsung to reveal those details at MWC that will be happening in few weeks.
