Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Dock Will Arrive Next Month

The Google Nexus 4 isn’t exactly the hottest selling smartphone in the market right now and that’s because it is facing supply issues, contrary to what LG would have you believe. So roughly put, not all users were able to get the Nexus 4 in time, or not at all in some cases. But you might recall there was a wireless charging unit which was spoken about earlier during the launch of the smartphone and shortly before that as well. Today, reports have emerged suggesting that this Qi based wireless charging dock for the Nexus 4 could make way to the market by next month. Waiting for a month isn’t exactly ideal for anybody, but given the kind of waiting some people have had to do for the Nexus 4, it doesn’t seem like a lot at all.

The info comes from Norwegian retailer Dustin-Home which has listed the wireless charging dock for 640 KR (Swedish Krona) which is about $99. So that’s not a bad price for a wireless charging dock, but when we look at the competition, Nokia’s wireless charging pad costs substantially lesser. Regardless, it’s good to know that the accessory is finally up for launch and users should be able to get their hands on the accessory next month.

It’s all black like what we’ve seen in the images so far, so that goes along with the body of the Nexus 4 very well. There are plenty of other Qi based wireless charging docks out there which more or less do the same thing. Nokia was in fact offering the charging dock free with Lumia 920 smartphones, which was a good introductory offer. But don’t expect Google to provide such offers with the accessory. However, all indications point at a sub $100 price tag for this charger, which isn’t all that bad.

Hopefully, this charger shouldn’t face any supply issues like the Nexus 4. We’re guessing LG has mass produced the charging dock to meet with the demand, if any. There are plenty of Nexus 4 users who will take a liking to this new accessory, so it’s pretty big news for them. LG has to improve the supplies of the Nexus 4 for this news to have any impact on the people. The company is believed to be increasing the Nexus 4 production substantially to meet with the demand. Let’s hope that happens soon.
