New Render of HTC M7 Allegedly Leaks

An image that is alleged to be a render of the upcoming HTC M7 smartphone is now circulating online. The render shows the smartphone’s front and rear, and shows a different handset as compared to the supposed HTC M7 render that floated several days earlier.

The new image, published by HTC Source, is said to have come from “two trusted sources” whose names were not disclosed.

Phonedog observes that the render appears to combine features from the Droid DNA and the Windows Phone 8X. On its rear, one sees a speaker grille, a camera with flash, the logo of HTC at the center, and further below, the logo of BeatsAudio. Then, on the smartphone’s front, one finds the HTC logo again, three capacitive touch navigation buttons, and an earpiece.

For its part, the earlier render of the HTC M7, which was posted by @evleaks, is said to have been taken from an animation. There was a disclaimer, as well, saying that the design of the HTC M7 could be different from what was seen in that animation. Such image showed only the front of the smartphone, where a camera, some sensors, and a power button can be seen.

Meanwhile, some features that appear on the new render seem to be congruent with the rumoured list of specifications of the handset. The HTC M7 is expected to have a 4.7-inch 1080p display, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. Under the hood, rumors suggest that the device runs on a quad-core processor, feature 2GB of RAM, 32GB of user memory, and Android Jelly Bean operating system. It may also come with HTC Sense 5, and have a “globally recognizable design,” which means that international versions for various carriers should vary only slightly.

The smartphone could be first revealed during the Mobile World Congress scheduled to be held late next month.
