MSI Introduces Enjoy 71 Budget Android Tablet

There seems to be a huge market for budget friendly entry level tablets as manufacturers have announced various models for this segment. MSI is also interested in this market as they recently released their Enjoy 71 Android tablet which retails for approximately $172 in Taiwan. Its price point makes it even cheaper than the Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD which both are at the $200 price range.

Enjoy 71 Technical Specifications

  • Dual Core AML8726-MX  1.5GHz
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • DDR3 1GB
  • 7″ LED Panel 1024 x 600 IPS
  • Full High Definition 1080p Playback
  • 8GB ROM
  • Front 0.3M MP/ Rear 2.0 MP
  • micro-SD(Max 32GB)
  • 802.11 b/g/n
  • mini-HDMI
  • Micro-USB
  • 3.5mm headphone Jack
  • G-Sensor (Accelerometer)
  • 3200mAh (support micro USB charging)
  • 299g
  • 191 mm x  119 mm x 8.9 mm

One feature that makes this model stand out from the rest is that it uses a metal enclosure rather than the usual plastic. This makes it at least more durable and more comfortable to hold in your hands compared to other budget tablets.

Its specifications are quite underwhelming which is to be expected for a device in this price range. You get a dual core 1.5GHz processor as well as 1 GB of RAM. There’s also a Mali 400 GPU which should help in making games play smoothly.  In the company website they posted a benchmark result which showed the Enjoy 71 processor beating the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and the Acer Iconia Tab A100 by a wide margin.

You have access to two cameras, a front camera for video calls and a back snapper rated at 2 MP. Don’t expect to take great pictures with the rear camera though. The 8 GB of internal storage can be expanded using a microSD card up to 32 GB bringing your storage total to 40 GB.

This device supports full HD 1080p video playback which you can output to a flat screen TV using the HDMI port.

The Enjoy 71 is currently available in Taiwan with no update from MSI yet if it will be arriving in the US market.
