Pictures of the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 Leak Out, It Does Exist After All

There has been plenty spoken about Samsung’s aspirations with the tablet industry. Its capabilities were brought to the fore by the arrival of the Nexus 10. The tablet actually showed a lot of promise but has been marred by supply issues on the Google Play Store. But all that apart, it’s a pretty good tablet. If we dive into the past a little, we will remember tablets like the Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Both these devices were Samsung’s only known tablets even though there were plenty of other Sammy tablets in the fray. And we’ve been hearing since the past few days that Samsung was looking to upgrade the lineup one more time after the 2012 upgrade in the form of the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 and a newer iteration of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Unfortunately though, these reports were claimed to be rather useless as a subsequent report claimed that Samsung had axed the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 to bring only 8 and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab variants. But now, according to a new leaked image, the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 might not be dead after all. The tablet has made a surprise appearance in the news and managed to pose for some images as well, hence revealing its existence. What makes these pictures even more believable is the fact that it shows off a brochure or a box of the device as well.

These images don’t show us a lot but merely a device wrapped in the traditional plastic and what appears to be a brochure for the tablet. So does this mean that the device is indeed real? Well we hope so, because we don’t see a reason to believe otherwise. There’s been plenty of talk about Samsung’s tablet lineup so far, especially since the Galaxy Note 8 leaked. We certainly hope this tablet sees the light of the day, as it certainly looks like something which would be targeted towards the masses and not just a niche audience. The tablet in question doesn’t appear to have any hardware buttons on it, which could be because of the highly reflective camera flash visible on the device. Regardless, it’s good to be treated to leaks like these as we now have an idea as to where Samsung is heading with its tablets. It’s still to be seen if this device will actually be launched by Samsung or if this is just an early demo unit of the tablet.

With continued focus on Samsung’s smartphones (read: Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy S III) we almost tend to forget about the tablet industry. But the fact of the matter is that Samsung is one of the few Android OEMs which has been pretty active in this area. Be it with the original Galaxy Tab, or the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Galaxy Tab 8.9, Samsung has tried it all. The company will hope for the people to take these devices more seriously than they have in the past. The iPads have absolutely eclipsed these tablets since the past few years, so let’s hope that trend changes with this device. Expect this tablet to be announced at the MWC event in Barcelona next month.
