Samsung Announces the Cool New Galaxy Muse MP3 Player

Samsung has its presence in a lot of categories like smartphones, home appliances etc. And wherever it goes, it gives its unique touch to the products. And that has been the trademark of the company which has been instrumental in its success in the market. And the company has now launched something relatively unknown for the manufacturer, in the form of the Galaxy Muse. This is basically a tiny version of the standard Galaxy Player. But don’t let the looks fool you, as despite its small size, it can do a lot more than most media devices in the market right now. You might recall hearing about a device called Galaxy Pebble, this is just a renamed version of that. The Galaxy Muse is offered in Blue and White variants and will be sold for $49.99. The unit itself has a few touch sensitive media control buttons to pause play and fast forward tracks. It comes with a 3.5mm headset jack obviously which will support almost any headset out there. Bear in mind, this is merely a music player and not a bluetooth compatible device, so you will still have to take your phone with you if you’re going on a long walk.

The highlight of the device however is its pairing ability with most Samsung Galaxy smartphones. All of this can be done wirelessly with the help of an app called Muse Sync which is available in the Play Store. The Pebble apparently comes with 4GB of internal storage which should be enough for your playlists when you run out for a jog. It comes with a LED indicator as well which tells you about device status and the amount of battery left. So it’s not just another music player you’ll find in the market. The pebble shape, makes it unique and adds to the overall look of the unit. It comes with a clip on the back to attach it safely anywhere over your clothing.

The idea basically is that a user transfers music from his Galaxy device to the Galaxy Muse and then he/she doesn’t have to carry the smartphone. For those who don’t own a Galaxy device, there’s no need to worry as the device also comes with a micro USB port and cable so that you can add music from your desktop. However it’s not all that straight forward. To be able to connect via micro USB, the adapter is to be connected via the 3.5mm headset jack, which is rather odd, but understandable as there’s hardly any space for micro USB port on the player. Samsung is offering a 3.5mm micro USB adapter and a 3.5mm USB adapter along with the Galaxy Muse. Also bundled in the box is a decent pair of stereo earphones (EHS61). Samsung has put up a list of devices which are compatible with the Galaxy Muse. Head over to Samsung’s compatibility page to know more.
