Samsung Galaxy S4 rumors suggest of 4.99-inch display, 1080p resolution, 13MP camera

Initially, South Korean manufacturer, Samsung Electronics, denied all rumors that there is going to be a Galaxy S4 device. But that was the time when Galaxy S3 was performing really well in terms of sales being the company’s flagship phone for this year. When the second generation Note was released, the company started to leak out info, including possible features and specs, of the next generation Galaxy S device.

Just about a couple of days ago, new information were posted online suggesting Galaxy S4 will be sporting 4.99-inch display panel featuring full HD 1080p resolution based on its very own Super AMOLED display technology. While the official unveiling of these new display panels was reportedly slated during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2013, inside sources said the company already started the mass production. The new panels feature 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and will come packed with more than 441ppi, twice as many pixels as Apple’s Retina Display.

An all-new, 13-megapixel sensor is said to be packed with other impressive hardware to produce better, more advanced flagship phone that will become the company’s flagship for next year. Unlike Sony, Samsung has never been known to give its devices camera with really high MPs. So, it will become a challenge for the South Korean manufacturer on how to make the camera work better even under low-light conditions. If it fails to do so, this is the aspect in its new flagship that would be subject of criticisms.

Just so everybody knows, a 13-megapixel camera can produce photos as wide as 4208 x 3120 pixels and will be saved as a huge file in the phone’s memory. It means that the company has to put really powerful processor complemented with at least, 2GB RAM. Previous rumors suggested that Samsung will give Galaxy S4 its quad-core Exynos 5450 clocked at 2.0 GHz. The chip is said to be built on a 28nm process and, according to, can be downclocked to 1.7GHz.

There is no further information relating to the pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the company has yet to confirm its existence. But it is during this time of the year that any company would tip off its fans and patrons that a new device is coming. Based on the reports published by thousands of tech blogs this past two months, the rumors surrounding Galaxy S4 are almost real. To recap, here are some of the rumored Galaxy S4 specs:

  • Curved screen using flexible screen technology
  • 4.99-inch AMOLED display
  • 1920 x 1080p HD resolution with 441 ppi
  • 2GHz quad-core Exynos processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system or higher
  • 13 mega-pixel camera or higher
  • 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera with built-in Skype
  • 4G LTE data speed
  • 3200 mAh battery

We can understand if Samsung will try to silence these kinds of rumors to protect sales of its new devices from being hijacked. But sooner or later, the company has to announce its plan to release new line of high-end smartphones. Whether or not it will continue its Galaxy brand, no one knows.
