Motorola Electrify M for US Cellular Coming November 8th

US Cellular has added one more 4G LTE capable smartphone to its family of Android Smartphones – the Motorola Electrify M running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.  This new phone is expected to be available on the online stores on November 8th (one week away) for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.  According to US Cellular, the Electrify M will be available in retail stores the next day on 9th November.  People who live within the 4G LTE coverage market will be eligible for the $99.99 price while those who live outside will have to churn out $50 extra and get the Electrify M for $149.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.

The Motorola Electrify M is a mid-range smartphone boasting of a 4.3 inch qHD “virtually borderless” display, an 8 megapixels rear camera, NFC and 4G LTE data capability.  It is also built with a scratch resistant surface and is listed to be ‘water-repellent’ on the US Cellular press release.

The mobile carrier seems to target buyers looking for a great budget smartphone with high speed data transfer mainly for entertainment purpose besides the mainstream smartphone uses.  As US Cellular continues to roll out its 4G network, it is showing a lot of determination to amass a large number of 4G capable smartphones on its lineup to give the customers more options as the faster and better voice and data network reaches them.

The Electrify M’s screen is supposed to be ‘very captivating’ considering the resolution and tapping texts, viewing images and videos and browsing the web is clearer and text more crisp.  With Motorola’s Super AMOLED display technology used on the screen, the display is advanced and very responsive.

Despite the size, the phone packs a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor for faster performance and comes pre-loaded with Google Chrome browser for Android – an even faster browser for a fast phone that can access the fast 4G network.  Users will have the option to install their own browsers from the Google Play Store though as well as install many other applications (over 650,000 to choose from actually) to organize their lives and make the most of the ne smartphone.

Although the Motorola Electrify M is not on top of Motorola’s most impressive devices, especially with a screen resolution of 960 x 540 which by today’s standard very low, it looks like a great device considering the price.  The holiday season is here and if you want a decent phone on the US Cellular network for a low price, you should consider the Electrify M.
