While the HTC One X may have received Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in Asia, other countries have unfortunately not received the update yet. Good news though. The International HTC One X has just began receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in other countries. Three cheers for Jelly Bean!
Based off of reports from XDA and Twitter, One X handsets with the Customer ID of HTC_044 have begun receiving the update to Jelly Bean just this morning. Other countries that have been included in this next batch of updates include South America and Eastern Europe along with a few other countries.
Owners of the HTC One X will see a extremely small OTA (Over The Air) update that will prepare the device for the update to Jelly Bean. They will then get a much larger 365MB OTA that fully updates the device to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The update includes HTC Sense 4+, which adds in new camera capabilities, a re-vamped Gallery and HTC Watch applications. It’s a minor update compared to Sense 4, but still a nice one.
Now we just have to wait and see when the One X will get the Jelly Bean update from AT&T. I think we all know how long that process could take. Of course, lets not forget about the LTE EVO either. I have a feeling that we’re going to be waiting a whole lot longer for these devices’ updates.
IF you’ve begun getting the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on your One X, let us know how the update is fairing for your device!
