Consumer Reports has just published their annual customer satisfaction rankings for the United States mobile carriers. The new rankings show Verizon Wireless customers as the happiest, while AT&T has been scored the lowest out of the four major carriers (I can personally vouch for this, as their customer service is terrible!).
These rankings are all based off of consumer surveys that are based upon categories like data network, call quality and customer service. These stats likely depend on where you live, as you could be extremely happy with AT&T while being extremely dissatisfied with Verizon. You can easily do a internet search showing varied opinions on carriers. Some will be happy with AT&T or T-Mobile while others will hate AT&T and T-Mobile to their grave.
