Windows 8 is here

Microsoft, the Redmond based operating system giant, is making its latest and supposed to be the greatest edition of its Windows operating system, the Windows 8. The new operating system will be available on Friday, the 26th of October, that is today. The new operating system offers an all new user interface that has been designed for the now popular touch screens. Individual customers and businesses world wide will be able to experience the new interface and the new features of the operating system pretty soon.

The Redmond based company had tight integration with various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for making the Windows 8 a success. As a result of this, there are more than a thousand laptops, netbooks, and tablets running Windows 8 on store shelves today, along with the launch of the new operating system. Also, there is a built in app store in the operating system, called the Windows Store.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said, “We have reimagined Windows and the result is a stunning lineup of new PCs. Windows 8 brings together the best of the PC and the tablet. It works perfect for work and play and it is alive with your world. Every one of our customers will find a PC that they will absolutely love.”

There are two versions of the operating system coming into the market today, one is the usual Windows 8 operating system, the other is the Windows RT operating system. The Windows RT can be thought of as a stripped down version of the Windows 8 operating system which is optimized for ARM architecture based devices.

The new operating system is being made available in 140 markets and 37 different languages. The product can be purchased, downloaded, or upgraded from here. For big organizations, Microsoft has released Windows 8 Pro, which is the usual professional version of the Windows operating system which have been seeing from a generations.
