Third gen iPad with Lightning port might be revealed at next week’s event

There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the Apple event on the 23rd of October. The Cupertino tech giant is expected to launch the all new 7.85 inch iPad Mini, in an effort to conquer the 7 inch tablet market which is currently being led by Goole designed and Asus manufactured Nexus 7, and the Amazon Kindle Fire. The new iPad Mini is expected to have a 7.85 inch capacitive touch screen display, the same one as seen on the second generation iPad 2, and not a Retina display. Along with that, the smaller tablet is also expected to feature the all new Lightning port that the company featured for the first time on the sixth generation iPhone 5.

But along with this, there were rumors that the Cupertino tech giant would refresh the current third generation New iPad as well. The new iPad is expected to come with the new Lightning port. But now, it seems like this is not just a possibility anymore. According to 9to5Mac, Apple is for sure announcing the new and improved third generation iPad. So what are the new and improved features?

Well, to begin with, referring to the list of SKU numbers of the tablets for the October 23rd event, half of the iPads on the list are the smaller 7.85 inch iPad Mini versions. And the remaining half of the list has the refreshed line of third generation iPads. The new iPads are said to feature the new Lightning port, according to the source. And along with that, the new iPads are going to run on the much powerful A6 chip that the company has put inside the new iPhone 5.

Not just that, the rumor that the refreshed iPads will feature 4G LTE chip for the UK is also complete. The refreshed iPads will be available with 4G LTE chips for the whole world, which is for sure tempting. So are you going to buy the new refreshed iPad?
