The Motorola RAZR i will be sold in China under the name MT788. This device is not yet available in the United States and Canada, but is already on its way to Europe and Latin America, apart from China.
The Motorola MT788, however, will have some slight differences when compared with the Motorola RAZR i that is heading to other markets. In place of the Kevlar fiber backing, the MT788 will have a plain cover. It will also support TD-SCDMA connectivity on Chinese Mobile. Other specifications, however, are expected to be the same.
The handset features a single-core Intel Atom processor running at a speed of 2GHz. According to Motorola, it is the first smartphone that comes with this clock speed as earlier releases were slower, with speeds reaching only 1.6GHz. Meanwhile, Intel says that even though the Medfield chip has only one core, it can surpass dual-core processors. As for its operating system, the Motorola MT788 comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The smartphone also sports 1GB of RAM and 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB models in terms of storage capacity, but it will have a microSD card slot, as well, in case there is a need for expansion.
For its screen, the MT788 packs a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED Advance display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
The device is powered by a 2000mAH battery which offers up to 20 hours of use on a single charge. Also onboard is a feature called SMARTACTIONS battery savings which help users save more battery life.
Likewise, it carries support for Near Field Communication, which facilitates the sending of content like links, contacts, and maps via Android Beam. Its main camera is an instant-launch 8-megapixel snapper with a dedicated camera button to ensure that its users never miss a shot.
There is still no information on the price of the Motorola MT788 or when it will be released in China.
