HTC’s 5-inch phablet’s specs leaked

Rumors about the 5 inch smart phone, or phablet as some people call it, from the Taiwanese company, HTC, has been all over the internet from a couple of months. But we did not have any solid data on the device. It looks like we now have some data. The company has not yet officially announced anything, but the rumor mill is in its full drive. The specs of the smart phone, or phablet, have now been made public on the internet, another leak. The device has been codenamed DLX.

The device, which may or may not be the one pictured last month in another leaked, also pictured here, was also said to be the next Nexus device that Google is working on with the Taiwanese manufacturer. But now that also seems a very remote possibility, but still a possibility.

In any case, if the company is working on such a 5 inch smart phone tablet hybrid, the best thing to do would be to launch the device well before the holiday season, to get the most of the profit and sales it could make. The specs of the device are as follows.

The so called DLX will come with a beautiful 5 inch display with a resolution of 1, 920 x 1, 080p pixels, that is a full high definition (HD) touch screen. This would possibly be the touch screen that Sharp started mass producing in the beginning of this month, that was a beautiful display for sure. Next, the device will run on a 1.5 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, which is high end enough for even power users. This will be accompanied by a 1.5 GB RAM, to allow true multitasking, and 16 gigs of on board memory, which will be shared with the operating system as well, leaving around 11 gigs as user memory space.

The device will be released with Android 4.1.2, that is Jelly Bean. The release date or the price of the device is not yet out. But according to earlier rumors, the HTC DLX should be released sometime this month.
