Asus Vivo Tab RT Available For $599.99

The Asus Vivo Tab RT is now selling on a pre-order basis from retailers like Staples, TigerDirect, FutureShop, and Newegg for $599.99. This tablet, which was previously known as the Tablet 600, officially goes on sale this coming October 26th, with shipping dates pegged from said date until October 30th. For an additional cost of $169.99, consumers get an optional portable docking station for use with the tablet. TigerDirect, however, is offering the tablet and the docking station as a bundle for the price of $799.99.

The tablet features Windows RT Operating System and an NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30 1.3GHz 1MB L2 Cache processor. It also boasts of a 32GB Hard Drive and graphics by NVIDIA Tegra 3. The tablet’s display is a 10.1-inch WXGA IPS with OGS touch panel. This screen has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, according to retailers. However, The Verge reports this to be incorrect, as the Asus Vivo Tab RT in fact has a display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The tablet also has a brightness level of 550 nits, and an outdoor reading feature. Furthermore, it has a 178-degree viewing angle. The tablet has two cameras: a rear-facing camera with an 8-megapixel sensor with flash and a front-facing camera with a 2-megapixel sensor. It carries support for Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity as well as Bluetooth version 4.0. It has 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. Users can opt to add more storage through a microSD card slot. It also comes with a 2-in-1 audio jack and a microHDMI port. The tablet weighs 1.1 lbs and measures 10.3 x 6.7 x 0.3 inches. The tablet is fuelled by a 22Wh Li-polymer battery which allows for 10 hours of use, or 15 hours when connected to the portable docking station.

On the other hand, the portable docking station has a full QWERTY keyboard and a touchpad. It has the ability to charge the tablet’s battery, and comes with function keys that allows for easy access to video and music playing controls. This comes with a power adapter that is able to charge other USB devices. It has dimensions of 10.3 x 6.7 x 0.4 inches and a weight of 1.2 lbs.

Both devices come with a 1-year limited labor warranty.
