Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo, revealed its newest masterpiece in a bid to grow its share in the Android market dominated by seasoned manufacturers. Oppo Find 5 will come bringing along a bunch of features that only a few smartphones offer. It is apparent that Oppo is trying to produce eye-catching products; earlier this year it released the world’s thinnest smartphone.
Oppo Find 5 will become one of the few smartphones to come with a quad-core processor. But aside from that, it will become the first mobile phone to feature a full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution stretched on a 5-inch screen. Thus, it will feature a stunning 441 pixels per inch (PPI) leaving Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 look bad as far as display is concerned.
Some reports suggest that Oppo Find 5 will sport 1GB RAM while others say its quad-core processor needs to have 2GB complementary memory. One tech enthusiast, however, explained that smartphones don’t really need as much RAM but it’s always better to get higher specs. So, either it will get 2GB or just half of it, it doesn’t really matter.
It is confirmed that Oppo’s latest foray into the cutthroat smartphone market will feature the latest version of Android—Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This handset may just make its debut in China and there is no word whether the company will try to capture the market in the U.S. and U.K. but that would totally depend on how it will perform in such a stiff market.
Reports say it will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor, which claims to be the most powerful of its kind today. Exynos-based Galaxy S III and Tegra 3-based Nexus 7, albeit having quad-core processors, will totally be defeated when processing capability is concerned as shown in several benchmarks done by Engadget.
Among other features that would surely catch one’s attention are its 12 MP primary camera and the powerful 2500 mAh battery, which is believed to power the device up to 11 hours of straight talk time.
Needless to say, Oppo built a device that would pose a real threat to the ones already dominating in the market including the newly announced iPhone 5. What the company needs to do now is to promote its brand and acquire more following.
There is no word as to the pricing and availability of the device and there’s no photo available yet to give us an idea how this device would look like.
