LG’s Optimus G phone recently made a public appearance on a commercial on Youtube. Titled “I’m a Boy,” the entire video is in Korean, precluding English-speaking LG fans from thoroughly enjoying its content. Nonetheless, the video does its job of showcasing the handset’s main camera as well as its support for 4G LTE connectivity. The video begins with a sketch of a superhero, then shows a man using his phone to capture of several planes moving across the sky, playing a guitar underwater, frolicking with colleagues, and riding a Segway.
The LG Optimus G commercial is believed to be debuting on South Korean television once the device is finally launched in the country. The same phone is also believed to be slated for an unveiling by LG and Qualcomm in the U.S. this coming September 19th.
Among the specifications of the LG Optimus G are a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon Pro Processor working alongside 2GB of RAM. It also has a storage capacity of 32 GB. For its display, this smartphones has a 4.7-inch True HP IPS+ capacitive multi-touch screen which has a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. Its operating system is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich while its battery has a capacity of 2100 mAh. In the imaging department, the Optimus G boasts of a 13-megapixel main camera with many useful features such as Panorama, Scenes, Face Detection, Smile Detection, Auto Focus, ISO control, Exposure control, White balance control, Multi shot, Digital zoom, and Geo-tagging. The camera is also able to take videos in High Definition. This complements a front-facing camera for video calling. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, micro USB, Wi-Fi, Mobile Hotspot, HDMI through microUSB, NFC, MHL, DLNA, computer sync, and OTA sync. Furthermore, the device has an accelerometer and compass.
The LG Optimus G is the South Korean company’s flagship phone for this year, designed to compete against the flagship device offerings of Samsung, Nokia, HTC, Motorola, and Apple, among others.
Its release date and pricing are still unavailable, although these pieces of information will likely be revealed during the phone’s launch.
