Just last week we had saw a leaked Verizon roadmap that had listed the DROID Incredible X, a device that will be boasting of a 5 inch 1080p display along with a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 plus. The latest news coming from GSMArena is that an anonymous reader has claimed that the same device will also be a Google Nexus device, call the Nexus 5. As you probably guessed, this is not a 5th version of a Nexus phone, it actually seems to be a play on the display size, just like the Nexus 7 was, but that is also subject to change.
This “Nexus 5” has a awesome display and CPU, but it will also be showing off 2GB of RAM, a 12 mega pixel camera, a whopping 64GB of storage space, and a 2500mAh battery. These are basically the same specs as the DROID Incredible X, but the Nexus 5 will have one huge difference: stock Android. On another note, there has been a rumor that has surfaced saying there won’t be a major version of Android announced yet, but it’s a possibility that we could be seeing Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This update could be including a few bug fixes along with a few enhancements. One of those enhancements could be the heavily rumored multi account feature that’s been going around for quite some time now. That’s all speculation though, so take it with a rather large grain of salt
Obviously this isn’t going to be the only Nexus device we will be seeing. We’ve already has some evidence of the Galaxy Nexus 2 this past week, and there’s also been quite a few rumors surfacing about LG releasing a new Nexus device based off of the Optimus G device. I think our grand question is, what in the world is Motorola up to? Everything has been very silent over there aside from some of the newer Razr M devices, and with that said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out with a Nexus device based off of the new DROID RAZR M. This way, Google would have a ton of different Nexus devices available all at different price points and thus they will profit. Still, I’m really holding out for an Xperia Nexus based off of one of the new Xperia devices. I think it’d be really cool due to how friendly the Xperia handsets are when it comes to media (i.e. video, pictures, games and etc). It’d definitely be a huge seller, especially after all of the hype the new devices have been getting.
All of that said, we can only hang onto hope and wait patiently. I can imagine the rumors starting up very soon as we get closer to Android’s birthday. This is going to be one long and bumpy ride full of interesting rumors. Hopefully not as many as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 had, but still, it’s going to be pretty crazy.
Is there a certain Nexus device that you would like to see, or are you happy with your current handset? Let us know in the comments below!
