When Samsung first announced the Samsung Galaxy Note, which is basically a 5.3 inch tablet hybrid device or a phablet, it had to undergo a lot of criticism saying it wasn’t practical to have such a big screen on a phone. Things turned out to be just fine after the launch of Galaxy Note, and it was apparently very successful. The South Korean mobile giant managed to sell more than 10 million units of this phablet, and announced the successor, the Samsung Galaxy Note ll at the IFA tech show in Berlin at the end of August.
The Note 2 is all set for the launch, just in time for the holiday season, and the company has said that the device will be more widely available than its predecessor. When things are right around the corner, SamMobile has laid their hands on the schedule of the Samsung Galaxy Note II for Europe along with the price tag. According to SamMobile, the company is targeting a €699 price tag (roughly converts to $910) for the Note 2 and the device is said to go on sale next week onwards.
On September 27, Germany will be the first country to get the device. Italian users can lay their hands on this device a day later. People in The UK, France and the Netherlands will have to keep their fingers crossed for few more days as the phablet will go on sale on October 1-2. Other European countries will have this device going on sale in their local markets in the week 40 or 41 (first two weeks of October).
Below is a list of dates written in nicer way:
France October 1-2
Germany September 27
Italy September 28
Netherlands October 1-2
United Kingdom October 1-2
It was previously rumored that this phablet will be carrying a price tag of €640 in Germany, but as of now it isn’t confirmed. Obviously, the device will be also available via various carriers at subsidized price if you find the price for an unlocked set is too costly. American carriers have been cautious about the Note device in the past. AT&T did not choose to sell it for as long as three months after its overseas launch, whereas T-Mobile started to sell the device only in August. As of now, the sale of the original Galaxy Note has been halted until Note 2 is up for sale.
In the US, the Samsung Galaxy Note II will be coming to most of the major carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular in mid-November.
Galaxy Note 2 is equipped with 5.5” screen, quad-core processor and an 8 megapixel camera. Galaxy Note II will be running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, which isn’t a surprise as it’s a high end device. The original Galaxy Note will also be receiving the Jelly Bean update by end of the year. What are your thoughts on Galaxy Note II? Let us know using the comment form below.
