Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Confirmed For U.S Release “Later in 2012”

I think we all wanted to jump out of our seats do a standing ovation as the Samsung Galaxy Note II was announced yesterday. After the event though, I think all of us living in the United States were wondering as to when this new handset would be coming on over to United States retailers. Thankfully Samsung confirmed yesterday that the 5.5 inch handset will be available in United States markets “later in 2012.” Here’s the full statement:

“Samsung Mobile is planning a U.S. version of Galaxy Note II, which will be available later in 2012. Building on the success of the original Galaxy Note, we’re confident that the Galaxy Note II continues to redefine what consumers should expect from their smartphone and delivers a powerful, innovative and unique experience. Exact timing and retail channel availability is not being announced at this time, we will continue to share information as it becomes available”.

If we consider that we’re getting really close to the end of the third quarter end entering the fourth, it really shouldn’t be much more of a wait before we are able to see Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 in stores and we definitely shouldn’t and won’t have to wait as long as we did for the original Galaxy Note to hit the United States retailers. Since the release of the Galaxy Note 2 is so close to the final verdict in the Apple vs Samsung trial, I wonder if Samsung will be seeing record breaking sales too. It is quite possible, especially after the report that stores are going out of stock after the final verdict in the trial. That said, even the upcoming injunctions in September and December are going to most likely frustrate consumers. I think with the end of the year getting closer and closer, Samsung is going to be seeing some amazing sales statistics that they probably haven’t seen in the U.S before if reports keep it up like they are.

Are you going to be one of the many people picking up a Galaxy Note 2 when it releases here in the United States markets? I probably won’t be as I would rather hold out for one of the new Xperia devices that Sony will be releasing pretty soon here. Not to mention that behemoth of a tablet they will be releasing to the public!
