Here we go again with all of the Galaxy Note 2 rumors. We all knew it was bound to happen with Samsung’s big announcement coming up at the end of the month. Just like the Galaxy S III, this is supposedly the first leaked render of Samsung’s next big flagship device, the Galaxy Note 2. I’m kind of suspicious about it as it looks a lot like the Galaxy S III. As you can see it’s large, but it could just be a scaled Galaxy S III. The three-button setup really makes me suspicious just because of how close to the Galaxy S III it looks. It also has a 16:10 aspect ratio screen. That’s literally all we know about this.
There’s really not much to get on about here, and as a personal opinion, I almost think this is another fan-made mockup like the last rumor. I mean seriously, when is the last time that anyone has seen a official promotional shot of a phone with a blank screen? Like, not ever. Actually, that’s probably wrong, but the point is, that’s very, very rare to come across. Thus, fan-made mockups are crowding the internet with their juicy lies, getting everyone excited only to find out it was all for nothing. Fan’s really stink sometimes, eh?
GSMArena, was of course, sent this image from an anonymous sender. They’ve said that its source reports a familiar set of rumored specs for the Galaxy Note 2. These specs include the rumored 5.5 inch screen, SuperAMOLED+ (RGB) display, an 8 mega pixel camera with a slightly higher-clocked Exynos 4 Quad chip. It’s obvious that anyone would be surprised if the Galaxy Note 2 strayed a bit too far from this spec list, but it still doesn’t confirm that accuracy of this image. I still think it looks like a scaled version of the Galaxy S III, if I’m wrong though, don’t hold me to it.
It’s very possible that this could be the Galaxy Note 2, but really, I’m 99% sure it’s not. The mass amount of fake Galaxy S III renders up to the phone’s release date was ridiculous. In fact, this happens every time people get excited for a popular phone. It’s almost tempting to just stop considering rumors newsworthy, but still, if this is the Galaxy Note 2, I think I may just be disappointing in it’s design. Once again it looks a whole lot like the Samsung Galaxy S III, layout and everything.
However this turns out though, we can still expect to see the real thing in a couple of weeks in Berlin where the second Samsung Mobile Unpacked event of the year will take place. That is where we’ll get to see this glorious Note 2 and watch it’s debut with glazing eyes and drool seeping from our mouths.
I’m kind of excited to see what happens at the event. Are any of you going or will you just be watching it live through a livestream? Whatever way you watch it, what device are you most excited to see announced at the event? Let us know in the comments!
