For the last couple Cyanogen Mod’s, we’ve had some really cool boot animations to watch as out phones loaded up. Now, with Cyanogen Mod 10 just over the horizon, we’re getting a completely new one. There will be no more 30 second loops, no more silly mascots, no more fluff in this new animation and from the looks of it, it’s going to make us all feel like we’re booting up Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit. There’s nothing wrong with that though, this new boot animation looks pretty dang cool and was really well designed. It’s simplistic and looks pretty fantastic, if I do say so myself.
In Cyanogen Mod 9 we had a little blue Android on a skateboard floating through the matrix until our phones were full done booting up, later on there was a revision to make it feature the Cyanogen Mod mascot, Cid. Which was essentially the same as the first Cyanogen Mod 9 except there is no blue Android floating through the matrix on a skateboard. Out of all three animations I honestly think I prefer this latest one. The Iron Man boot up is pretty stinking sweet, you have to admit. Hopefully that’s an official animation and won’t be revised by the time Cyanogen Mod 10 fully releases. I really like it.

Lastly, here we have the latest Cyanogen Mod 10 boot animation featuring the likes of Iron Man:
What do you think? I’d say another job well done, personally. The Cyanogen Mod team so far as I have seen, has been fantastic at making some really cool animations for their ROM, and still continue to do so. Imagine what Cyanogen Mod Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie will look like, eh? Who knows if it’ll even be Key Lime Pie though, maybe it’ll be Kiwi Fruit Cake or Kiwi Cheese Cake?
Whatever the case is, if you’re looking to grab a download for Cyanogen Mod 10, just head on over to get.cm and you’ll see a ton of nightly builds. If you haven’t done it before, you should head on over to the XDA Forums to look for some detailed instructions and/or some help from some of the developers on the XDA Forums. If you’re just flashing for this beautiful bootloader animation though, I envy you with your unlocked bootloaders! Curse Motorola and their unwillingness to unlock the Atrix 2 bootloader!
As always, if you decide to download it, you’re responsible for your actions, neither the developer or the author writing about this will take responsibility. Just try and be careful, we don’t want to hear about another failed attempt at installing Cyanogen Mod 10 thus resulting in a bricked and non-functional smartphone. That’d be terrible, now wouldn’t it?
Does anyone like the new bootloader animation? Do you see the resemblance to Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit? Let us know in the comments below!
