CoolPad Quattro 4G Coming to MetroPCS Limited Time for $99

MetroPCS may not be the most popular carrier to offer the widest range of smartphones to its subscribers, but they sure are trying to catch up.  Their newest move is to target the low-end users with their new CoolPad Quattro 4G Android smartphone set to come soon.  Over the past month, there have been rumors that the carrier was looking to establish a stronger gadget line up over the next half year and this seems to be just a continuation of their introduction of the Galaxy S3.

The introduction of the Galaxy S3 was by far MetroPCS’biggest leap in the smartphone field and it must have worked very well for them.  However, the S3 is quite a costly high end device which may not appeal to many users because of the pricing.  The number six US carrier introduced the Galaxy S Lightray 4G and the LG Motion 4G smartphones soon after the S3 in an attempt to cover the mid-range techies, but this move did not satisfy the low-end low-price consumers.  The Coolpad Quattro 4G is an entry-level android smartphone with high speed data transfer capability priced at only $150 – and it will be up for sale soon.

This new smartphone is a 4 Inch Android gadget with features that may qualify it to be a mid-range smartphone in some quarters.  What pins it on the low end though is that it comes with Android Gingerbread out of the box and it lacks sufficient processing speed to qualify it to the next level.  MetroPCs have not revealed any official photos of the Coolpad Quattro yet but what we know is that the phone is a simply designed handset with a 4 inch screen, a single core 1GHz processor, 133MB inbuilt memory and 512MB of RAM.

The pricing of the phone though is what the carrier banks on to win buyers’ hearts.  The Quattro 4G is already on a ‘limited time special sale’ at $99 without a contract and $50 after a mail-in rebate after which the price will be $150. Subscribers can then get to choose from the various carrier’s very affordable plans starting at $40 per month with unlimited data, talk and text.
