Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE Hits Stores

When it comes to device launches in the U.S, we often see postponements and delays. This is a widespread problem common with every retailer and carrier out there. But Verizon has stuck to its promise of launching the new HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE by July 5th. The device is now formally available in VZW stores, so grab yourself a unit if you’re into this whole LTE thing. Of course you won’t get the fancy quad core chipset here as most of them aren’t LTE friendly, but this device has a decent Snapdragon S4 chipset on board clocked at 1.2 GHz with the new Adreno 225 GPU for your power hungry Android games.

The device will set you back by $199 on a regular contract, but an online discount will buy you the device for $149. Verizon was one of the first carriers to bring 4G LTE to the States, and has one of the widest networks too. The company is following aggressive strategies to lure new owners to go for an LTE smartphone and is successful to a certain extent. The aggressive pricing of its smartphones is working out well for the carrier. AT&T’s $99 Lumia 900 4G however made a minor dent in Verizon’s overall scheme of things but it was quick to get back on its feet with the $79 LG Lucid 4G.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE is not as big as the recent flagships or like its AT&T sibling the One X, but its 4-inch qHD display shouldn’t be a deal breaker to many. The smartphone is accompanied by an 8MP rear camera as well as a 1.3MP front facing camera for video calls. The device packs a decent 1800mAh battery, which should last your usual day or day and a half. There’s nifty Beats Audio integration on the device as you can see by the branding on the back of the smartphone. However, we’re not sure if it will be supplied with the proprietary iBeats earphones. So for $199 or $149, it’s kind of steep, but considering the kind of device we have here, the customers wouldn’t mind much.

Update: If you haven’t noticed already, Wirefly is offering the device for $99. But it seems like Letstalk is offering the device for even lesser at $39.99. So save yourself the extra $110 and head over to Letstalk for the Droid Incredible 4G LTE. But tough luck if you just got the device from Verizon. Follow the Letstalk link below for details.
