Samsung Omnia M (Minuet) Pre-order Starts in the UK for £249.98

Samsung’s foray into the Windows Phone market, Samsung Omnia M, is now up for pre-order in the United Kingdom as Samsung Omnia Minuet S7530 for £249.98. The release date was reportedly set on August 27th giving hopefuls over one month to wait. There is no information which carriers would offer this handset to their customers but the variant up for pre-order now is SIM-free.

Apparently, it is an entry-level model based on its price. It may appear reasonable at first glance but it’s not considering Nokia Lumia 610 and Lumia 710 are a lot cheaper. Omnia Minuet could be found somewhere in the middle of these devices as far as specs are concerned. This leaves an impression that European consumers would be paying for the brand more than features and hardware. That said you should also know that it is intended for Europe and there’s no information for now that indicates this smartphone would be sold outside that market.

Samsung Omnia M (Minuet) will sport a single-core processor clocked at 1GHz paired with 384 MB RAM; it will be made available in two variants—4GB and 8GB. If there is something that could easily be appreciated by enthusiasts that would the 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixels resolution (233ppi density). However, it seems like the 1500 mAh battery wouldn’t be enough to power this handset longer; that’s one of the disadvantages of having AMOLED screen.

Gamers may find a little consolation in this device knowing all Windows Phones will receive an Xbox app together with some features to promote Microsoft’s gaming console. Basically, this app will allow users to send and receive messages to and from friends who also have Xbox accounts.
