In the past, the mere mention of the phrase ‘kid’s gadgets’ triggered thoughts of toys such as Leapfrog and many other junk toys marketed as ‘for kids’. The new Nabi 2 tablet now shatters this mold and takes the definition of ‘kid’s gadgets’ to a whole new level – a gadget that runs on a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and an array of amazing educational software.
The Fuhu Nabi 2 Kid’s tablet is a rugged and has pretty impressive specs – a 7 inch screen, 1 GB of Ram and 8 GB inbuilt storage. The tablet has been available for pre-order for a couple of days now on Walmart, Gamestop, Best Buy and other outlets and was set to launch and start shipping today. The tablet is also available on Amazon and other leading outlets already.
Although it is marketed as an educational tool for kids, the Fuhu Nabi is an Android tablet that could as well be used like any other Android tablet. $199 is not too high for such a high end Android tablet with such features, especially since it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, a 2 Megapixel camera that can take 720p video and a bumper case that provide extra protection from shock such as accidental dropping. One major downside of the Fuhu Nabi 2 tablet is that unlike other Android tablets, it has no access to the Google Play Store and it does not come with the many Android pre-loaded applications. However, one can load the Amazon Appstore on the device and take advantage of the many applications on it.
