Splashtop brings Windows 8 Metro Testbed to Android

If you have an Android tablet but love the cool new Windows 8 Metro style user interface which is going to be released on the upcoming Windows 8 tablet, you do not have to worry any more. Because the Windows 8 Metro user interface has been brought to Android itself. Yes, Splashtop, the company behind the port, has brought a Windows 8 Metro Test bed on to Android. Interested Androiders can now download the app from the Google Play Store and start playing with it. The company had released the same Windows 8 Metro Test bed for iPad way back in April. I do not know why there has been a delay for Android, but any way, it is finally here.

To use the app on your Android tablet, you will need Windows 8 Release Preview installed on your computer. If you are worried about spending money on that now, you can relax as the Release Preview is available for free directly from Microsoft. You can download it from here. Once you take care of this, you will be able to download the Windows 8 Metro Test bed on your tablet from the Google Play Store and enjoy the new look you got for your Android tablet. Hothardware writes:

Among the features available for perusal is swiping to the left to switch apps, pulling up the Charms menu with a right-swipe, closing an app by swiping from the top, the ability to run to apps side-by-side with a slow left swipe, multi-touch gestures, and pinch-to-zoom.

When you are getting such an awesome app, you will have to shell out some money, that is inevitable. So yes, this is not a free app. And if you are wondering how much you will have to pay, it is $49.99. Yes, that is pretty high. But the app is now on sale for just $24.99. That is a sweet bargain. So if you are interested, head over to Google Play Store here. Watch the video preview below to see how awesome the app is.
