Google Chrome Now The Top Free App On Apple App Store

Google Chrome was announced for iOS on Tuesday and it hit the Apple App Store the next day. Just a day after it debuted on the Apple App Store, Google’s Chrome for the iPhone and iPad has already taken the top position in the “top free apps” list. It has also received an average of 4.5 star rating. The other Google app for iOS, Google Drive, which was launched yesterday, has also shown up in the App Store’s Free App list, coming in at number 5 position just a day after its release.

Google has developed separate Chrome apps for the iPhone and the iPad, the iPad version being suited to take advantage of the iPad’s nearly 10 inch screen. Now, Google Chrome, along with Opera and Dolphin provide an alternate browser app for iOS users.

The Chrome browser was also announced as the default browser for the upcoming Android version 4.1 Jelly Bean. Google Play store now offers the stable version of the Chrome browser as well for Android 4.0 and up.
