The popular game where you have to plant gardens to thwart off zombies is addicting and has great, iconic graphics. That’s why PopCap has decided to start merchandising Plants vs Zombies.
While you may have seen Plants vs Zombies t-shirts and plushies the developer reports that aside from a few promotional items sent out by their PR firm, and t-shirts that were licensed in China, there is no official Plants Vs Zombies merchandise, until now.
More after the break
The new line of Plants vs Zombies merchandise includes plant plushies, plant and zombie wall clings, bracelets, wallets and shirts. The entire line will include; apparel, headwear, plush toys, electronics accessories, cell phone cases, calendars, posters and more, reports geekwire. Trends International, Bioworld Merchandising, Funko, MjC International, Jazwares, and walls 360 were the manufacturers granted license. A few of those manufacturers have major relationships with the likes of Spencers and Hot Topic.
“We’re taking a measured, deliberate approach to licensing our IPs, focusing on quality brand extensions that expand our unique game icons and experiences for our fans in authentic, meaningful ways,” said Brennan Townley, director of brand licensing at PopCap Games, in a news release. “The partnerships we’ve announced today represent partnerships with some of the most highly regarded licensees in their respective categories.”
While Plants vs Zombies will be the focus at first, PopCap reported that BeJeweled will be brought to life as well.
