GameStop had plans for selling Android tablets starting November last year. The company started selling tablet directly in about 200 locations, and now the company has expanded the the range of tablets availability. The company had started selling the tablet in an attempt to increase its range of gaming and customers. The company now has 1,600 locations selling select laptops. The company is now selling Acer Iconia Tab A200, ASUS TF300T, Toshiba Excite 10, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and a refurbished Apple iPad 2.
The cost for the basic versions of the tablet ranges from $299 for the Acer Iconia Tab A200 to $399 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. This could be a very good chance for the company to expand its user base as a lot of tablet owners now plan a lot of games on their tablets. The tablet world is now filled with games. More and more companies and developers are now diving into this space to develop new games and sell it on either Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Another reason for such an increase in tablet gaming can be credited to the tablet manufacturers. They are constantly updating the hardware of their tablets to include new state of the art graphics processing units to that new and advanced graphics technologies can be used to design games which will give console games a run for their money.
Another thing that Game Stop is taking care of is pre loaded games. Yes, the company is giving free games with the tablets. The list of pre loaded games includes Sonic CD and Riptide, the Kongregate Arcade app, and a free issue of Game Informer Digital. So, that is an extra treat to customers. They will not have to spend money as soon as they buy a tablet for games. They can start playing as soon as they unpack the tablets and play for at least a week before thinking of buying new games for their new tablets.
