Verizon CFO Confirms Shared Data Plans This Summer

Verizon CFO Fran Shammo, confirmed what he has been hinting at for months, to investors today and that is that Verizon Wireless will start to offer shared data plans. It’s been rumored for months that Verizon Wireless and second place carrier AT&T were going to move to a shared data model. In fact both companies have continually said that they were looking into it.

Verizon has said that they will start offering shared data plans during the summer.

There’s been no word on what the plans will cost or how much data will be included. This is a great way for families to add more current smart devices to their family plans without having  to have an individual data plan. It’s also the perfect scenario for people that want to have a smartphone and tablet and share the data.

Now that Verizon has made it official we’re sure an AT&T announcement isn’t far off, CTIA anyone?
