Day After Launch Sprint Pushes Update To ZTE Optik

The affordable ZTE Optik Android tablet launched yesterday at Sprint stores everywhere. The $99 (on a new two year agreement) tablet comes with a 7″ screen, 1.2ghz dual core processor and 3G connectivity on the Sprint network.

After their first tablets reached store shelves and customers Sprint has quickly come up with a bug fix update and has started pushing it out already.  According to the changelog this is what you can expect from that update:

  • Google DRM solution
  • Google Music
  • Google+
  • Persistent notification after BT transfer
  • Software version corrected in x-wap profile
  • Sim City closes when attempting to purchase while connected to Wifi
  • Sim City download issue fixed
  • Response when connected to a computer via USB cable

The Optik came with Android 3.2 Honeycomb so Google Music and Google+ weren’t onboard already like on an Android 4.0 device, however this update brings both apps to the tablet and bakes in DRM as well.  If you bought an Optik yesterday go check for the update now!
