Verizon Wireless Announces LG Lucid, Affordable Mid Range 4G LTE Android Phone

While this phone isn’t going to be a head turner for the Android enthusiast, the new LG Lucid looks to be a solid mid-range Android device for Verizon Wireless’ 4G/LTE network.

The company said today that the LG Lucid will be available starting Thursday for just $79.99 on a new two year agreement. The Lucid specs out rather nicely for a mid-range phone it’s hard to believe that just 6 months ago these would be top tier specs:

1.2ghz dual core processor
1GB of RAM
4 inch Gorilla Glass display
5 megapixel with 1080p HD video capture
Front facing camera
Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgradeable later to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Video Producer Software

The LG Lucid also features a new Quick Reply UI that allows the user to reject calls or answer text messages without having to leave the app they are in.

If you know someone in the market to switch up to Android, this may be the device for them to enjoy Android and Verizon’s 4G/LTE.
