Ustream For Android Hits 2.5 Million Downloads And Adds More Features

One of the longest apps that’s been on the Android platform, Ustream has reached a huge milestone. Ustream the app that allows you to stream video to the Ustream network from your Android device, has hit 2.5 million downloads.

With the 2.5  million download milestone Ustream has released a new version of the app. Version 2.0 brings a new interface, that looks a lot cleaner than before. New features include device rotation to landscape mode, swiping navigation, and more action bar functionality. It also supports Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ustream 2.0 also offers an ad-free premium membership. You can upgrade to premium via in-app Google Wallet or on the Ustream website. When you get the premium version you won’t see banner ads in the videos.

Ustream has also integrated broadcasting and viewing into the same app with version 2.0. Now there is a record button sitting on the viewing screen which allows you to quickly broadcast to your Ustream channel after putting it in the settings, essentially meshing the old Ustream Viewer and Ustream Broadcaster into one app.
