Late last year when HTC announced a partnership with Beats Audio, it quickly got the Android world talking. Beats by Dre have risen to be one of the most popular lines of consumer headphones ever. HTC has teamed up with beats audio to bring some of the best aspects of Beats by Dre headphones to the smartphone.
When HTC’s CEO Peter Chou announced that Beats Audio would be available on any HTC Sense 4.0 phone he confirmed what many had thought. That was, that Beats Audio has nothing to do with the hardware, it’s all in the software.
More after the break
Now, two modders from the XDA community have ported Beats Audio to all Gingerbread Roms, which means that Beats Audio will work with any rooted Gingerbread phone. While they don’t reveal exactly how they did it, it’s presumed that they were able to extract the Beats Audio software from a leaked build of HTC’s Sense 4.0.
Of course the way you hear Beats Audio is a personal preference. The developers of the mod suggest high end headphones, however there will be a difference even on lower end headphones. XDA gives credit to Fuss132, and RocoDev who also thanks willblake13 for the base he could start with.
