We were pretty shocked to hear that Sony’s first Android tablet, the Tablet S, was the best selling Android tablet in October of 2011. So of course we want to see what the new Sony Tablet P is all about. During the Sony press conference at CES last month, they quickly outlined the Sony Tablet P and it’s unique clam shell design. Sony representatives hinted at a Q1 release for the United States.
That all holds true with this leaked image above, obtained by the TechBoys. The image shows the tablet going on sale this Sunday. Of course we all know Sunday is typically AT&T’s big release day.
Also, in the leaked screen shot we see that AT&T will offer a bundle and save promotion with Sony’s Xperia Play smartphone. The promotion lets you take home Sony’s uniquely shaped Tablet P and a brand new Xperia Play 4G smartphone for a combined total of $399.
More after the break
Both devices are PlayStation certified. If you’re a true hardcore gamer that needs games fed into your blood stream by IV this may be the promotion for you.
Aside from that the Sony Tablet P features a clam shell dual screen design. Like the Kyocera Echo the user can use each screen separately, complimenting each other, or as one. For example you can view two separate web pages in each screen. You can have your mail box in one screen and pop the message in the other, or you can use both screens as one continuous screen with a bar in the middle.
Each of the screens is 5.5″ and when fully opened forms a 10.1″ screen. It runs on a 1ghz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. The Tablet P has 1gb of RAM, 4GB of on board storage, a microSD slot and 4G by way of HSPA+
So are you picking one up Sunday?
