Nvidia Showing Off Icera Modem And Of Course Tegra 3

Earlier this month we received an invitation to a press event we will be attending at Mobile World Congress promising “more quad-core firsts”. Today Nvidia has also announced that they will be showing off their Icera 410 LTE modem.

The Icera 410 LTE modem promises Voice over LTE calling as well as multi player gaming over LTE.

One of the things to look forward to with Nvidia’s new modem is seamlessly transitioning form 3G to 4G for Voice Over LTE or VoLTE.  The Icera modem uses a single multimode baseband processor with circuit switched 3G rather than the traditional separate basebands for each radio. This technology will take up less space and have less battery draw than those 4G/LTE phones already on the market.

Nvidia will also be showing off a software defined radio that uses 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE in their gaming demo.

We can’t wait to see it all.
