Huawei Makes Big Splash With Pegasus Statue Of Phones

Huawei has been turning heads at Mobile World Congress 2012. We’re starting to think that 2012 may be the year of Huawei, similar to how 2010 was the year for HTC.

Earlier today Huawei introduced their new quad core Huawei Ascend D Quad smartphone. They are billing it as the “world’s fastest smartphone”. How is it so fast? Well that’s thanks to their own K3V2 quad core processor.

That may seem like plenty for Huawei and MWC. Trust me many people were very impressed. However that’s not all. Huawei has placed this Pegasus sculpture outside the MWC venue in Barcelona.

The giant Pegasus was sculpted out of 3500 Huawei handsets and supporting rods. It was sculpted by a company called “Machine Shop” out of London. The statue that stands 19 feet tall with a wingspan of 16 feet took 720 man hours to create.
