The tablet/phone hybrid announced back at IFA in Berlin in September and known to the world as the Samsung Galaxy Note has been pegged for a February 18th release date on AT&T. The best part of the news is the price, which is $299 on a new two year agreement.
At $299 that puts the 5.3″ Galaxy Note with it’s digital “S-Pen” coming in at the same release price as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Droid Razr Maxx over on Verizon. While some may balk at a $300 device on contract, it’s a lot better than we original thought.
More after the break
According to the leak from BGR and reported by Phonearena, the Galaxy Note will arrive on AT&T with two other previously unannounced Android smartphones. The first is the Samsung Rugby Smart and the other is the AT&T Fusion. While it’s been suggested that both phones are Android powered smartphones there is no direct information indicating that they are.
With Mobile World Congress happening in 30 days we have to wonder if the AT&T load has now been blown or are we going to see more Android power headed to the nations second largest carrier. I have a feeling we’ll see a Motorola 4G/LTE Android device on AT&T before too long.
